Standard first aid and CPR is arguably the most popular St Mark James available in Red Deer, Alberta. It’s an extensive and comprehensive course that covers a range of first aid topics including circulatory and respiratory emergencies. This is a two-day course that takes approximately 15 hours to complete.
CPR training comes standard with the class and can be either level “A”, “C” or “HCP”. Participants will also learn how and when to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Participants that complete the skills component of the course and receive a minimum score of 75% on the multiple choice test will receive a workplace approved certificate that is valid throughout Canada for 3 years.
Course Length
The duration of a Standard first aid and CPR certification course may range from 14 to more than 20 hrs. The length of time is dependent upon the type of CPR partnered with the class and also the experience level of the applicants. The time it takes to complete the lesson does not take into account breaks.

CPR and AED Training Included
Typically CPR level “C”, which has CPR education for child, adult and infant patients, is included with the standard first aid lesson. We provide customers with option of upgrading to a CPR “HCP” class at no additional cost. Participants that want basic CPR training can partner the course with level “A”. AED training is included in all CPR level’s.
Subject Covered in Standard First-aid
Individuals which join the class will learn about respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies, spinal and basic emergencies, sudden medical emergencies, CPR training and AED use. These issues and others will be discussed in great detail with hands-on training and a variety of learner centred activities.

Standard First Aid and CPR Official certifications
Candidates that complete the standard first aid class will receive a card that states completion of standard first-aid, CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP” and training in the usage of AED’s.
